August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM).
Getting vaccinated is one of the safest ways for you to protect your health.
Everyone should make sure they’re up to date on these routine vaccines:
COVID-19 vaccine- The 2024–2025 vaccines are expected to be available in fall 2024. They are for use in people ages 6 months and older
Flu vaccine (influenza)- CDC recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older get a flu vaccine each year.
Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough) or Td vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria).
Depending on your age group, you may need additional vaccines such as:
Age 19-26- HPV ,Chickenpox, MMR,Hepatitis B, MenB vaccine.
Age 27-49- HPV, Chickenpox (born after 1980), MMR and Hepatitis B.
Age 50-64- MMR, Hepatitis B, Shingles, RSV (those 60 and older with chronic medical problems).
Age 65 and older – Pneumococcal, Shingles, and RSV (those 65- 74 years of age with chronic medical problems).
